New Story: The Destiny Angel
Friday, May 1, 2009 || Friday, May 01, 2009
The Destiny Angel -Chapter 1Like all, I grew up in my mum's womb for 9 months before having the chance to see the world. Most could see and experience the world but I cannot. I died 7 minutes right after my birth.
I am a Destiny Angel. Destiny Angels die 7 minutes after their birth and they are brought to the Destiny world. That is their destiny. They are robbed of the chance to experience the world and feel love from their parents. I beared a grudge and hated being a Destiny Angel. Despite all, I knew the basic role of a Destiny Angel. Only 0.3% of newborn babies have to chance of becoming a Destiny Angel. I should be honored and proud, but I was not.
Destiny Angels are immortals who die only when they find a newborn baby to take over their place. They create destiny for mortals and watch over them for the rest of their life. When they are of a ripe age, they will be given a destiny book to write out the destiny for their destiny mortal.
As far as I know, I am being brought up by Sapphire, when her sister chose me to take over her place and died soon after. Sapphire is the Queen of Destiny Angels, which make me the Crown Princess. I hated it, leading me to hate Sapphire too. My attitude changed for the better only when Sapphire gave me her Destiny Mirror to see my family.
I watched my parents mourn for my death and had a child 2 years after my death. I had a brother named Callum. He was a lovely child and my parents adored him. He was a bright and popular student since young and was a girl-magnet. I was proud of my brother and jealous of him at the same time, when I see my parents showering love upon him.
Then, my life changed on my 19th birthday.
“Persephone, you are now of a ripe age to create a destiny from a mortal. Not your parents, your brother but a stranger. You have to watch over him or her and not tell him or her your true identity. The stranger will be your main objective and not your family. You will be allowed to see your family when you are in the mortal world. Now, here is your Destiny book.” Sapphire said in a solemn tone, passing me a black book, with “Destiny Book” scrawled out in a shiny silver pen. At the lower left right hand corner, there was my name, also scrawled out in silver pen.
“Thank you, Sapphire!” I gushed, over the moon. I took the book and hugged Sapphire tight. I saw tears in her eyes and her voice wobbled slightly as she talked. “Remember not to reveal your identity to anyone. When you reach the mortal world, close your eyes and take 100 steps forward. The first person you see when you open your eyes will be your Destiny mortal. I have already registered for you in Victoria Junior College, a prestigious school in Singapore, and that is where your brother studies at too. Just stay in a hotel first, I will be watching you from here. Take care, dearest.”
I nodded and thanked her again. Now, it was my turn to be tearing. Can I ever bear to leave Sapphire? Then, before I knew it, I was teleported to the mortal world. It was scary to be in unfamiliar surroundings. Then I remembered Sapphire’s words. I braced myself and closed my eyes.”1.2.3…” I murmured as I took each step. “98,99,100!” Before I could open my eyes, I bumped into someone and fall flat on my bottom on the tarmac ground.”OUCH!” I yowled in pain.
“Sorry! Are you alright?”a voice said. It sounded so sincere and gentle and I looked up. Under the rays of the Sun, the mortal that stood front of me was drop-dead handsome.His features was perfectly outlined and he was tall and lean and yet broad-shouldered and muscular. He was so masculine and charming…Then, it struck me.
“OMQ, this is my destiny mortal! Sapphire, can you see that?! This handsome guy is my destiny mortal!!!” I screamed silently to myself.
“Are you alright?”,the gorgeous guy repeated, looking very worried. I quickly said,” Oh, I am fine. Thanks.’ The guy helped me up and the moment he touched me, he sent my insides to tingle. I was gaga over this guy and I tried hiding it, by smiling at him. Then, I scolded myself,” Persephone, stop smiling like an idiot!!!”
“ I am glad you are ok. Goodbye then.” He said, giving me a good-natured smile before walking away.
His smile made my bones melt. “ God, I am just so lucky!!!!” I shouted, unable to control myself. People walked past, and they stared at me. I blushed, beetroot.
