Chapter 8~
The doorbell rang again impatiently and I was jolted out from my thoughts. Aaron was about to open the door but I held his hand and settled him onto the sofa, in silence. Then, I walked briskly to the door, my face burning.
As I unlocked the door latch, I felt Aaron's eyes on me. I shrugged offf the tingling feeling and opened the wooden door.
"Hello." a deep voice came.
I looked up and there stood a very macho guy. He was extraordinary tall and big-build, but he really had handsome features. I wondered how Aaron managed to know a guy like him.
" Hi," I smiled and turned to Aaron. "Er, Aaron. There is a friend here!"
Aaron just stared at the giant out there."I..I don't know him."
The big guy just smiled." Oh, I am here to sell these stuff." He said, as he showed me a big bag of choppers.
"WOAH.knives...." I thought. " Sorry, buddy. I am not interested..." I said, trying to close the door, however, his hands were plastered on the door.
" Am I interupting some quality time between both of you? Your face is all smushed up. Get a life...." as he spoke, I noticed a glint of tease in his eyes and his hands slowly slid back to his sides.
"I.." Aaron suddenly hobbled to my side. " Sorry,sir, this is our private matter." and without warning, he slammed the door right at his face. Obviously, the giant was cursing.
I was taken aback by Aaron's sudden outburst. Then, I suddenly realised that we were alone again...
"What...what was that for?" I asked,rather meekly.
"He was flirting with you!" Aaron almost shouted.
" Flirt? Was that giant doing that?I did not notice..." I thought silently. " You are thinking too much. Let me help you to your room and I will cook for you. I think Callum will be coming over soon." I quickly thought of something safe to say.
Aaron did not say anything and I felt uneasy.
That night, I went crazy. I actually thought of love. I knew Aaron was jealous.But, it just seemed that I was in love with a guy I only met recently. "No..aaron was not just a guy, he was myDestiny mortal. the mortal I have to protect for the rest of his life. How can I protect a guy as a Destiny Angel if I am falling into the river of love.."
The big question mark hung on my head for the rest of the night.
Meanwhile, the giant laughed his head off at the secluded mansion...
