Chapter 23
The sun rays pierced into my eyelids and I groaned as I stretched on the hard wooden bed. My eyes fluttered open and I looked around the room. Where is Lisbon? That was the first thing that came to my mind. I rushed out of the room and shouted his name repeatedly. “LISBON!”
There was no answer. I leaned against the brick wall as tears rolled down my cheeks. I combed through my thick hair and reminded myself that this was what I want.
I want to disappear from Lisbon’s life forever and never ever have any relations with him. Finally, he leave me and he will never appear in front of me. I picked myself up and staggered back to the house. I had to meditate to regain my power.
Then, something caught my eye. It was a bottle of dubious-coloured looking liquid. Under it was a note. I picked it up and read.
Persephone Angel,
Your powers will be hard to regain as I hit you too hard. Sorry. As an apology, this bottle of healing potion will be yours. Do not worry, it is not poisonous:D Have a happy life. Goodbye.

Lisbon Dead.

The tears that just dried up flowed down again. Suddenly, I felt so lonely and helpless. In frustration, I crushed the paper and threw the bottle of potion on the hard ground. The glass bottle shattered into pieces and I screamed,” Why do you treat me so good?! WHY?!!!”


I slowly stumbled back to the city area and took a cab back home. I flung myself in my bed and cried my heart out. For the rest of the day, I hid under the duvet, not ready to face the horrible world that I was living in.

Luckily, in my life, there is Aaron----my Destiny mortal.

Next day, as I lay on the bed, half asleep, the door clicked open and I jumped out of bed. Who is that? Before I could find out, a figure greeted me at my bedroom door. Both of us gasped in unison.

“SPEHY!”

“AARON?!!”

Feeling a wash of relief, I ran forward and hugged him tight. My feeling was a mix. I did not know if Aaron was just a replacement for Lisbon or was I really happy to see this familiar person. However, I knew, no matter what happens next, Aaron cannot be missing from my life, like how Lisbon did. I cannot lose another person so important to me anymore.

“ Spehy, where did you disappear to? Do you know I have been searching for you high and low for so many days? How can you leave me like this?! What happened to you and that weird guy?” Aaron’s voice broke my thoughts.

I broke the close contact and looked into his eyes. “Sorry, I had to settle things with him.”

“What things?” he asked.

“I...Can...can we don’t talk about this for a moment?” I pleaded weakly.

Aaron just shrugged and muttered an apology.

I managed to plaster a smile on my face and break the silence between us,” Thanks for worrying about me in when you are still so sick.”

Aaron looked straight up at me with wide eyes,” How did you know I was sick?!”

“Well,err.. you look sick.” I said the first thing that came to my mind.

“Aww, Sephy, you are so observant. Now you are back, safe and sound, but with panda eyes.” he said sweetly.

I laughed and hugged him again. All of a sudden, I felt that I was ready to begin my new life without Lisbon Dead. After all, I lived without him for 19 years.

Chapter 21

Gingerly, I lifted my right hand to his cheek. At the touch, he looked straight into my anxious gaze. The look continued, hard and long...

“Sephy.” His lips finally said and I burst into peals of crying-of-joy laughter. However, I laughed too early. Lisbon’s eyes flashed crimson red again. He dropped my hand and grabbed my neck instead. I was taken aback, paralysed with fear and disappointment. It seemed that our encounter was not etched in his mind as clearly as it did in mine. My laughter stoned in mid-air and all that could be heard was the husky voice of Lisbon.

“I want more than just your blood, Sephy...”

I choked and blurted out,” WH..AT?!” Instinctively, my hands covered my chest, and I stared back at him with horror.

“Sephy, you are so fun to make fun of. You think dirty. Tsk.Tsk. I do not want your ahem, body. I only want your...—LIFE.” He leaned closer to my ear, emphasising hard on the last word.

I froze and winced in pain when he gripped my neck harder, his nails biting deep into my skin. I felt my limps slowly go weak, and my head slightly dizzy. The circulation of my blood seemed abnormal and I had BIG trouble trying to breathe. I saw spots in my eyes and before I knew it, everything was pitch-black.

I woke up in familiar surroundings. When I tried to sit up from my position, my hands seemed to turn wobbly and I stumbled back. I groaned. Jeez, isn’t this the place Lisbon kidnapped me to? OMQ, am I still in one piece?!!!! Just then, the wooden door slammed open. I jumped out of my skin. Almost. For the moment, I stared at the black figure in the way of the sun rays.

“Why the hell am I still alive? Kill me. Pls, dun torture me.” I pleaded, feeling weak all over. My neck was burning in pain from the cuts he gave me as well.

As always, he ignored me and asked a question totally out of point from mine. “Do I know you before?”

I stopped my whining and turned my attention to him. I reminded myself not to have any false hopes and composed myself, before calming answering,” Of course.”

“But you are an angel. I am a devil. We live in 2 different worlds.” He argued.

I shrugged my shoulders,” Do not ask me. YOU are the one that rammed into my life and caused havoc in my peaceful and wonderful life.”

He thought a long while about my answer and nodded his head slowly, “No wonder...”

Idiot, I thought silently. Where is Sapphire??? Aaron must be sick without me writing the Destiny Book for his daily life...Arggg. How am I going to escape when I feel so damnit weak?!What the hell happened to me??


Chapter 22


The two of us cooped ourselves in that stale house. I bit my nails thinking ways of escaping while Lisbon kept shooting me confused glances and I returned it with a glare. I wondered why he had not sucked me alive after such a long time. Possibilities swam through my mind but I ignored all of them. I had to accept the horrible fact that we CANNOT be together. Even if he remembers me, I will only bring him harm. His deadly and annoying bastard father will never ever let his precious son betray him.

For the last time, I looked at him, taking in his muscular frame, hot bod, sharp features...Whatever it is; he was the most heart-stoppingly beautiful man I had ever seen. I will never find another person that can ever replace his standing in my heart. I love him now and in the future, I will too.

As my thoughts wandered, tears welled up in my eyes. I sniffed silently and rubbed away the tears when Lisbon was not looking.

“Lisbon, are you going to kill me or let me go?” I asked him after my voice regained to normal.

After a long silence, he finally spoke,”I dunno...”

I had to force myself not to roll my eyes at the indecisive answer. “Fine. Let me go. I want to leave your world. Once and for all.”

“NO!” he growled immediately, I jumped in fright. His voice softened a little when he saw the expression on my pale face. “I mean..you are someone from my past. I have no clue about it and only you can help me. I know I am like a zombie with no feelings or whatsoever now. But,I am forcing it to come back. I want it to. Sorry for wadever I have done. Pls forgive me and help me regain my memory.”

I blinked several times before lying straight into his face,” I lied to you. You do not know me at all. I have nothing to do with you until the day you start hunting me.”

“Really?”he asked. I nodded.

“Sephy...have you found her?” Aaron asked, feeling a wash of nausea washed over him for the hundredth time. Callum shook his head despondently. Aaron sighed, gulping down the bitter antibiotics. His gorgeous face wrinkled as the liquid slid down his throat.

“Ever since she knocked us out, we have not seen her. Anyway, do you...do you notice anything unusual about Sephy?” Callum asked tentatively, hoping his friend will not lose his temper at the question.

Aaron frowned at his words and said almost angrily,” What the hell are you thinking?!! Sephy is nowhere to be found and yet you are here spouting nonsense!!!”

Callum quickly sent his apologies but the question he asked had hung in Aaron’s mind for an equally long time...

Teachers' Day is around the corner!

Chapter 20

I gulped nervously as he took a step closer to me. “fkfkfkfkfkfkfkfkfkfkf” I cursed repeatedly. Finally, I steadied myself and summoned my powers.

“Wind, hear me and come!” The familiar wash of wind rustled my hair, flew straight to Lisbon and threw him off his feet. He landed a few metres away from me with a heavy thud. I had this smug look on my face before it faded away when I saw the agitated gaze of Lisbon.

He snarled angrily and with a twist of his left hand, he sent me flying and landing behind Callum. I groaned in pain and Callum, the idiot finally noticed me.” Sephy! Jeez, you are finally here!”

I ignored him and stood up wobbly. I was not going to give up just because of this little set-back. I will not allow my life to end like that. So worthlessly. I stared straight back at Lisbon, confidence building up. I flicked my both hands and commanded confidently,” All elements, hear me and come!”

Meanwhile, Lisbon twisted both his hands in a weird order and muttered some Italian words. As expected, the worst dark power appeared and my elements stopped in mid-air and shattered to nowhere. The power travelled in the speed of light and found me easily. The pain was unbearable like a thousand of scorpions biting into my skin. The dark energy took its merciless journey round my body, sparing nothing along its way. It entered my blood and hit hard against my heart.

I crumpled to the ground and clutched my heart tightly. I cried out in pain repeatedly but no one was there. My mind flashed through times when Lisbon rescued me and was always by my side. The guy I fell in love with was the sensitive and insightful one, not the cruel monster that laughed as he watch me writhe in pain.

Then, I saw Lisbon muttering another set of phrases and his hands doing movements again. This second blow will end my life but I was not allowing that.

Using the last bit of my energy, I cut my left wrist and a thin line of red appeared before blood oozed out. The smell of fresh blood distracted Lisbon and he gawked hungrily at the crimson liquid flowing out from my wound.

“Lisbon, I am betting on the love you have for me for my bloody life. If you love me, go away and never come back. If you do not, drink me dry.” I said, loud enough for him to hear. His eyes flickered for a moment and to my disappointment, he squat down beside me and lifted my left hand to his mouth. He inhaled in deeply the smell of my blood and his eye colour changed continuously. From the usual red to orange, yellow, green and black. Amazingly, at the touch of him, the pain disappeared.

My heart rate increased rapidly as I spoke in between pants , “Lisbon, pls remember me. Pls. Now. You hear me?! LISBON DEAD, I am Persephone Angel! SEPHY!”

Finally, the zombie lifted his gaze to me. He scanned my face for the first time. For once, he is not distracted by my blood. He tilted his head to the right side, as if trying to think of something before shaking his head vigorously.


“I still remember the first time you were selling butcher knives and you accused me of making out with Aaron. You caused a really awkward situation for me. The second time was when you agitated me in school and caused a falling-out between Aaron and Callum. However, you saved me from fainting and brought me to the sick-bay. Not only that, you gave me ointment when you hurt me accidentally. You lent me a shoulder to cry on when I rejected Callum. You even stood up for me when I was bullied. I fell in love with that sensitive and cute devil,” I continued, looking deep into his eyes, searching for that familiar person.

Chapter 19
*The “I” in the story shall be Persephone (Sephy)

After a heart-to-heart talk with Sapphire, I felt like a heavy stone lifted off my chest. It felt so good to spill out your troubles to someone. It has been a really long time since I felt this way.
Ever since, I was pronounced as the next Destiny Angel Queen, my life has taken a (HUGE) toll. I was no longer that free and innocent angel. I had to learn about devils (LISBON!!!!), human kind (AARON!!!) and the rules (THE love rule...) .I was also given a sudden rush of powers consisting of all elements--Fire, water, air, earth and spirit. With great powers comes great responsibility.

As I thought, I suddenly felt like breaking down and cry. I actually broke the 1st heavenly rule. Once broken, I am to be thrown to the Des-poison tree, hung at the highest branch with limbs tightened together. Locked in a dark place for a hundred years was the worst punishment for any angel. Yet, Sapphire had risked her place as the Queen to help me cover my darkest secret. I felt like running back to her and hug her tight and think of her as my mother. Really.

Suddenly, I felt a sudden electrifying jolt. “Shit,” I cursed and teleported straight back to homely Earth. Aaron was in great danger.

I sensed for Aaron’s presence and gasped when I saw the future ahead of him. “Lisbon, pls don’t do this if you love me .If you ever,” I muttered. I teleported to the area where the 3 guys so important in my life were.

I appeared right in between Lisbon and Aaron.I scanned around and found Callum cowering in a corner, whimpering like an idiot. I sighed. (Typical of my brother.) Aaron face flushed a sign a relief before it turned to worriness. Lisbon, on the other hand just stared darkly at me. He seemed startled to see me there but the zombie he was, remained composed. As always.

“Sephy! Get out of the way. I told you this damn guy was evil. Stand back...I will...will fight him!” Aaron yelled as macho-ly as he could, despite his voice trembling and limbs shaking like jelly.

Poor guy... He does not know who he is going against...Well, who could blame him for being so nervous? The “guy” standing in front of him is two head taller than him, has skin as pale as a sheet and eyes with the bloody red colour. Despite all, he still looked gorgeous.

“Sorry, Aaron.” I said and knocked him out. He fell to the tarmac ground and I kicked him away.(As lightly as I could:)

Then, I turned to Lisbon. He looked at me with amusement before he spoke, “I am thirsty.”

“Well, can I help?” I asked innocently.

“Yes, a great deal, in fact,” he replied, plastering a fake smile.


“Lisbon Dead, I will never let you touch me ever again. Bring it on. Today, it’s either you perish or I die.” I said, silently cursing myself for saying out such words. I was bound to die horribly. I could never win a new-born devil with the humongous black powers he possesses.

He just looked intently. Not at my face, chest, lower part of body. It was my neck.

Chapter 17:DDDD

Impossible...A reborn devil? Shit.i need to escape or else he will suck me dry....
*ENISIA ASTROI!*
Sephy managed to escape with her soul and Lisbon-the-new did not notice .She gasped in disgust as she witnessed him lowering his mouth to her neck and sucked her blood. He roared in delight at the first taste of blood.
No..blood-sucker....Lisbon...
With tears brimming in her eyes, Sephy’s soul left the house and she soared back to Sapphire’s side. She knew Sapphire would find a way to save her.
By the time, Sephy reached the empire, her energy was running out. She was not supposed to be wandering in her soul for more than half an hour. Otherwise, she will disintegrate and vanish into nowhere forever. Finally, she reached Sapphire’s room.
“Sapphire...” she cried weakly before collapsing outside her door...
Meanwhile, Aaron was still searching for Sephy. He had also called Callum to help.
“Will we ever find her? Nobody knows where she disappeared to...” Aaron said dejectedly.
“I think you are making a mountain out of a molehill. Seriously, Sephy is definitely capable of taking care of her own self...”
“Callum, you don’t understand. Since the first time I laid my eyes on her, I could feel something going on between us. We had some kind of magical telepathy that no one can intrude. I was afraid of the power between us. It was very strong. I got a bigger shock when she appeared in our school. But as I got to know her, I realised the reason for our telepathy. I believe she is the one for me. Now, my sixth sense is telling me that she is great danger.”
“Uh-huh...” Callum nodded, silently thinking about sending his friend to the mental hospital.

Chapter 18

The pair of eyes stared back at her menacingly, threatening to disintegrate her soul. The figure floated towards her, his eyes never leaving her body. His bony hand stretched out, aiming ruthlessly at her neck.
She woke up screaming.
She glanced around frantically and spotted a familiar face.
“Sapphire!!!” she hugged her tight, bawling out loud like a baby.
Sapphire smoothed her hair, calming her down. When Sephy finally settled down, she spoke in a solemn tone.
“Another nightmare?You ok? *SIGH*Persephone, the guards got back your body in time, if not you will long be dead. Never leave your body ever again, you hear me?! Lisbon Dead, the Devil Prince kidnapped you. He is seeking for revenge and your life will always be in danger from this moment onwards.”
Sephy just nodded wearily but suddenly, a question struck her and she asked why did the devil king reborn his own son.
At first she hesitated. “He let the roots of love into his heart. It is rumoured that he fell in love and the Devil King mercilessly destroyed his own son and turned him into another person. A new born devil....”
Sapphire droned on but Sephy was no longer listening. FELL IN LOVE?! ROOTS OF LOVE?! DID HE FALL IN LOVE WITH ME??Wait...that is impossible... *FLASHBACK*----“your body is not that sexy to create lewd thoughts...” he is NOT physically attracted by me!!!
“Sephy?? PERSEPHONE!”
Sapphire broke her train of thoughts and Sephy was guilty to see her staring strangely at her. She quickly tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear and kept her head down, not wanting to meet Sapphire’s jutting gaze.
Sapphire grabbed her shoulders.
“Sephy, you are hiding something from me. And you are blocking away your thoughts from me. Spit it out now before I intrude your thoughts...” she threatened.
Reluctantly, Sephy told her about the mixed feelings she had between her Destiny mortal and Lisbon.
“Does all these mean I am letting roots of love grow in my heart? Does it?” she asked meekly as she stared at Sapphire’s horrified expression.
“OMQ! Persephone, you have broken the heavenly rule! Not once but twice! You are in LOVE with a mortal AND a devil! How bad can your taste get?!!! I have to remove the roots of love, if the King finds out abt this...the consequences..I don't even dare think!"
"I DON'T WANT!"Sephy cried in horror,"Removing the roots from my heart is equal to taking out my heart. I do not want to be an emotionless freak! I do not want!!! Pls, Sapphire,can you keep this secret. I promise that I will never let anyone get close to my heart--ever again!"
With puppy eyes, Sephy pleaded with Sapphire.
The Queen of Destiny Angels had no wish for her dearest to be like Lisbon Dead.But, if the King finds out, Sephy will have to be locked under the Des-poison tree. It will be like thrown into hell, never to subside again. However, the soft-hearted Queen finally promised the tear-stained face Sephy that she will take their conversation today as if it never took place before.
"Thank you , Sapphire!" Sephy finally smiled and embraced her.
"I hope I did not make the wrong choice..." Sapphire thought silently.

Chapter 16
Smoke was choking her lungs and she realised she is tied to a chair. Her limbs are tied tightly and her eyes were blindfolded. Fear palpitated againnst her ribcage. Millions of questions whizzed through her mind but she plucked up the courage to ask,"Who are you? Why did you kidnap me?!"
There was silence at first, followed by footsteps approaching her. Before she could react, she felt a strong grip on her shoulders. She gasped fearfully. "You are finally awake...." a familiar velvet voice resounded.
"What..what do you want...???"she stammered.
A cold marble cheek touched lightly against hers and she felt that her kidnapper's cheek went upwards.
*OMQ, he..he isn't some pervert right?!!Smiling in a time like this???!!!!!!!!!*
"Do not worry, my dear girl..Your body is not that sexy to create lewd thoughts." the voice said teasingly,pulling himself away from her.
"Hey, that is insulting." Sephy said unhappily,pouting.
The man laughed without humour.
*Who exactly is this guy?" I thought.
" Can..can you let.." Before I could complete my sentence,the mysterious man tore the blindfold away from my eyes and untied the ropes. Finally, I was free. But when I got a closer look at my kidnapper, I went ballistic.

In the heavenly world, Sapphire was screaming her lungs out. She screeched at her army to find Persephone's location at once. Her worry for Sephy grew by the minutes. She cannot allow anything to happen to her darling.
*Sephy, no matter where you are now..pls be safe.PLS!*
" Your highness, still no sign of Ms Persephone.. However, we found out that her destiny mortal is currently searching for her." a messenger announced to her.
Sapphire just massaged her temples, hoping for a miracle that Aaron will find Sephy...

" LISBON?! You are back!" Sephy cried, running forward to hug him. To ensure that this is not any dream.Lisbon did not return her hug, instead he gave her a strong grip on her neck, pulling her away from him. A dumbfounded Sephy stared at him in bewilderment. " What the hell are you doing??!!!"
His grip tightened and Sephy struggled helplessly. "It ..is.. me,... Lisbon.." Sephy whispered the words. She tried to lock gazes with him. To her utmost horror, she realised this was no longer the old Lisbon....

Chapter 15

He, was void of emotions. He is filled solely with overflowing hatred boiling through his skin. He is determined to seek revenge. This time, he will never fail.
In the heavenly world, a big news was travelling aorund rapidly. Sapphire, the queen of the Destiny Angels casually held up the newspapers,thinking that the news were just a rumour. There is absolutely nothing to discuss about.However, everything went beyond her imaginations. The headlines flashed back at her heartlessly--"Devil Prince is thirsty for blood" She dropped the newspaper on the ground as her mind whirled like a tornado.Who is his target this time? Will he cause a killing massacre like 100 years ago?
Just then, a messenger dashed in, perspiring profusely," Your highness,things are not going too smoothly.. The devil..prince is..is reborn! And his,,his target this time is..is Miss Persephone"
"WHAT?!!!!!"
Back in the mortal world,Aaron and Sephy were having a wonderful time chasing each other around. With her hidden power, Aaron can never out-run Sephy. She laughed as he cursed under his breath, when she teased him.
"LOSER!!!Run so slow..."
"Is you run sooo fast, ok? No normal human beings can run that fast!"he retorted angrily.
Sephy felt a little bad for teasing him when she was the cheater all along." Sorry, ok? I give you a treat! What do you want?A feast? But cannt be so ex hor..."
To her surprise, Aaron jus kept quiet.
She shook his shoulders and he just took a step away from her.
"Aaron, wat's wrong?" she asked concernly.
"Sephy.. I..I want you to be my..my.." Aaron stuttered, looking down at the ground.
But when Aaron looked up, Sephy was gone.
"Sephy?!Where are you?!"
