Chapter 28
The birds were still chirping, the leaves were still rustling, and the world was still revolving. But, my mind was not working. It was a total blank.
I looked at the ground, while he looked at me questioningly.
“WTF***” I finally whispered and lifted my head.
“Well, are we a couple?” Aaron asked again, leaning forward to rest his hands on my shoulders.
My head whirled and I shook my head and pulled away from his grasp. “Aaron..I..I”
“Why are you hesitating?” Aaron asked, his tone almost angry.
YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND! YOU WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH NOW, YOU GET IT?!!!!
I wanted to scream in his face. I wanted to tell all my secrets out. I wanted to just let all my frustrations go away. If only, I wasn’t a destiny angel...
“Aaron, we cannot be together. I don’t like you. You get it?” I spoke in the calmest tone I could afford.
“You don’t like me? Then..Then what was the thing that happened in the playground yesterday? The words we spoke? What was written in that book of yours? Doesn’t all that show you have feelings for me?!!!” Aaron gushed all in a breath. His gaze was perplexed and frustrated.
I turned my back on him, holding back my tears.
“Sorry. I ....never liked you. Yesterday, I was too emotional. That was why I did such a foolish thing. Really---“ Aaron interrupted me. All I could hear was hurt in his voice.
“Foolish? Kissing me was foolish. Oh...I get it..Persephone Angel, you are really such a..A...” he shouted, stuttering at the end of his sentence.
“Bitch?” I offered sarcastic-ly, turning back to face him, crossing my arms. It was a successful attempt to not make him notice my shaky hands.
Aaron just kicked his foot in anguish. He looked at me intently next and spoke, “I think it would be better if we treat each other as strangers from this second onwards. Goodbye, Sephy...” With that, he walked away, crossing paths with me. I waited till he was out of sight, before I broke down.
Maybe that would be the last time he would be calling me “Sephy”. Because from now on, I would be known to him as Persephone Angel. The stranger that once cruelly rejected him.

“He WHAT?!!!” Sapphire exclaimed.
“ ARG! How many times you want me to repeat it?!!! He confessed to me and called me a bitch!!!”
“Confessed?! BITCH?!!!”
*SIGH* “Yes... I rejected him and said horrible stuff. So that is all. Just reporting to you.” I said dejectedly, rising to stand when Sapphire grabbed my arm and pulled me down onto the chair again. I grunted and asked impatiently, “What now?”
“You..... like him, don’t you?” Sapphire asked, peering into my eyes. I knew she was looking into my thoughts again. Horrible Queen...
“Can I lie?” I asked, my sight blurring.
“My dearest Sephy!” Sapphire opened her arms wide as I moved forward to hug her. “If only, I could keep you in the Destiny World forever. This way, you would never need to go to the lifeless mortal world and meet Aaron. You need not get involved with Lisbon Dead and your brother. You just managed to overcome a heavy set-back. My poor girl!” she continued.
As she spoke, the sudden emotional whelm that stirred in my heart burst. It seemed like the volcano in my heart kept erupting, and erupting and erupting. It was never-ending. Just like how difficulties after difficulties happened in my horrible life.
When I did not say anything, Sapphire spoke again. “Actually, I have a way to get rid of all your troubles.”
I looked up, shocked.” Say it!”
“ Well, erm,” Sapphire looked furtively around and said just loud enough for my ears,” you can manipulate his feelings.”
“WHAT?!!! THAT IS AGAINST THE RULES OF THE DESTINY BOOK!” I screamed.
Sapphire hit my head hard and hissed,” Keep your volume down, idiot. Here is the deal, girlfren. I can help cover all these bad deeds for you. You have to make Aaron fall in love with another person. Be it boy or girl. It would be best to be a guy.”
“SAPPHIRE!!!!” I gasped.
Sapphire laughed and said,”JKJK. Ok, serious business. I will be helping you along the way. This is the only way I can think of now. So? Deal or no deal?”
“ Deal!”
I did not know during that second when I agreed to that ridiculous idea what was I thinking. But I regretted it soon after...
